What is Self Taping?

Greg Apps, Casting Director
Greg has been casting for over 50 years (yes that makes him sound old! but if you look at his acting history you will see he started as a child actor garnering lead roles in some of our most iconic Australian movies. And as a Casting Director he has cast some of our most iconic movies. He has literally seen hundreds of thousands of auditions (this is not an exaggeration) over the years. He has also been responsible for putting numerous stars in their first stand out roles. Some of the names Greg has helped discover include Russell Crowe, Eric Bana, Jacki McKenzie, Rachel Griffiths, Guy Pearce, Hugo Weaving, Geraldine Hakewill, Radha Mitchell and many more.......
He began his career as an actor. He has walked the red carpet, and performed in musicals, in theatre, on TV and film. Because he was an actor, he knows what you go through. He has sat in the waiting room and has felt the despair at not getting an audition for a role he desperately wanted and believed he was right for.
Being a casting director he’s also seen the other side. He’s witnessed so many talented actors stumble at the audition and make silly mistakes that could have easily been avoided.
So he decided to do something about it, to pass on his knowledge and experience, to help actors audition like a pro.
